Guerlain L’Heure Bleue 2026 – I should confess something first: I was never a huge fan of the original l’Heure Bleue Eau de Toilette. To this day, I can’t quite make peace with the aniseed in it. I usually love iris, but in the original, the note feels oily and heavy through the middle, and that dusty quality, paired with the carnation, never blended well for me.

The new 2026 version is a completely different story.

But if you’re after something with more richness and personality, I recently reviewed Tom Ford Tobacco Chocolat – a warm, smoky tobacco and cocoa scent that sits at the complete opposite end of the spectrum from this one.

L’Heure Bleue Eau de Toilette vs. L’Heure Bleue 2026 Eau de Parfum: Side by Side

To make the differences easier to see, here’s a quick side-by-side of both fragrances. The table below lays out the perfumer, fragrance family, and notes for both the Eau de Toilette 2021 and the new 2026 Eau de Parfum. It’s a handy reference if you’re trying to decide which one actually fits what you’re looking for.

L’Heure Bleue 2026 Eau de Parfum vs. L’Heure Bleue Eau de Toilette: What’s Changed

If I had to sum up the difference in one sentence: the new Guerlain L’Heure Bleue feels younger and far more delicate than the original. Where the classic leans heavy, powdery, and a little serious, this new release feels light, clean, and easy to wear from the very first spray.

How Does Guerlain L’Heure Bleue 2026 Smell?

guerlain l'heure bleue eau de parfum 2026

Guerlain L’Heure Bleue is a soapy, clean, airy, green iris, and sweet vanilla – that’s the short version.

The fragrance opens on an ozonic, soapy-powdery accord, fresh and cool, almost like a breath of air. The iris comes through dewy and slightly waxy, paired with orange blossom, and from there the scent develops through a soft floral accord. Throughout the wear, that same ozonic veil wraps around everything, keeping the whole composition airy from the opening to the dry-down.

After spending a full day in it, my honest verdict is this: It isn’t a bad scent by any means – it’s genuinely lovely, and I have no doubt plenty of people will fall for it. To my nose, it leans girly and innocent, with a soapy-clean freshness that feels versatile enough to wear for almost any occasion.

Longevity and Projection of Guerlain L’Heure Bleue Eau de Parfum

Both longevity and projection of Guerlain L’Heure Bleue are very good. It holds its presence well through the day without needing a reapplication.

Final Thoughts

If the original L’Heure Bleue never quite worked for you (aniseed and all), this new version is worth trying with an open mind. It keeps a nod to the house’s iris-and-powder heritage but wraps it in something fresher, cleaner, and much easier to wear day to day.

That said, for my own taste, this isn’t a perfume I’d rush to add to my collection. Guerlain has so many incredible scents I’d love to have in my life – my wishlist from this house alone is embarrassingly long, and this one just doesn’t make the cut for me personally. But that’s the beauty of fragrance: what doesn’t work on me might be someone else’s signature scent.
