So I’ve been seeing this name pop up lately: Chloe Cedrus de Nuit. And honestly… people are already talking about it like it’s confirmed.
What we do have is Cedrus and Cedrus Intense from the Atelier des Fleurs line. Cedrus is clean, airy cedarwood – very soft, very minimal. Cedrus Intense takes it deeper, warmer, and a bit more powerful.
For now, Cedrus de Nuit is still just a rumor… but I have to say, a darker, night-style cedar from Chloé actually sounds pretty interesting.
Cedarwood is only one part of the fascinating world of precious perfume woods and resins. If Chloé Cedrus de Nuit has caught your attention, take a deeper look at the luxurious ingredients that have shaped some of the most unforgettable high-end fragrances.

Chloe Atelier des Fleurs Cedrus Review: Chic, Clean & Elegant Woody Fragrance

To me, Cedrus is a classy, elegant woody fragrance. It opens with soft cardamom and a green, slightly earthy freshness, then settles into smooth cedarwood and vetiver blended with soft musk. Nothing feels loud or sharp. Everything is blended together in a very soft, delicate way.
Cedrus smells really chic and clean. It has a fresh, slightly soapy feel with a greener touch. As it develops, it becomes creamy, a bit spicy, woodsy, light, and bright.
Overall, I’d say Cedrus feels like modern cedar elegance. It has a luxurious, spa-like vibe that feels calming, refined, and special in its own way. To me, it gives off a sense of a relaxed, sophisticated lifestyle rather than trying to make a bold statement.

Chloe Cedrus Intense Review: Darker Cedarwood, Amber & Woody Elegance

Chloé Cedrus Intense takes the original cedar idea and makes it deeper, richer, and more textured but in a completely different direction. At first, it surprised me with a fresh, slightly brighter opening, but as it develops, it slowly moves into a darker and warmer territory. The cedarwood feels denser, smoother, and almost resinous, creating an extra layer of depth. I also get a subtle leather-like note and a warm amber base that give it more weight and presence.
It still keeps that clean Chloé signature, but it feels less airy and more structured. Overall, I’d say Cedrus Intense is a deeper and more confident interpretation of the original. It moves away from the minimalist calm of Cedrus and brings a more grounded woody sophistication with an unexpected character.

Chloe Cedrus de Nuit: The Darker Side of Cedar We Want to See

The name “Cedrus de Nuit” makes me imagine a darker side of cedar – warmer, more mysterious, and more sensual than the original Cedrus. Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if Chloé introduced a dark fruity note, maybe blueberry, blackcurrant, or another deep berry accord, to give the composition a more unexpected twist. Combined with cedarwood, amber, spices, or smoky nuances, it could create a more seductive and evening-inspired interpretation of the original.
The name itself is interesting because “de Nuit” (“of the night”) usually suggests a more mysterious, deeper interpretation.
If the brand follows this direction, Chloe Cedrus de Nuit could potentially explore:
- darker, richer cedarwood
- smoky or resinous woody notes
- warm amber depth
- incense-like nuances
- subtle leather or spicy accents
- a more sensual, evening-oriented personality
- possibly a dark fruity twist, such as blueberry or blackcurrant, for an unexpected contrast
Compared with the original Cedrus, which has a clean, soft, and understated woody musk character, a hypothetical Chloe Cedrus de Nuit would likely move in a warmer, deeper, and more sophisticated direction – a darker expression of cedar with a more mysterious mood.
Chloe Cedrus Intense vs. Chloe Cedrus de Nuit: A Similar Darker Direction?
At first glance, Cedrus Intense and Cedrus de Nuit seem to follow a similar idea – both move away from the airy minimalism of the original Cedrus and explore a richer, deeper side of cedar. However, I imagine they would express this darkness in different ways.
Cedrus Intense feels like a more powerful and structured version of the original. It keeps the clean Chloé elegance but adds more depth through denser cedarwood, warmer amber, subtle leather nuances, and a smoother, more grounded character.
Chloe Cedrus de Nuit, based only on the name, gives me a different impression. “De Nuit” suggests something more mysterious and sensual – perhaps a cedar fragrance designed for the evening. I could imagine darker elements such as smoky woods, incense, spices, warm amber, or even a deep fruity contrast like blackcurrant or blueberry, creating a more seductive and unexpected interpretation.
In simple terms: Cedrus Intense feels like the stronger, richer evolution of Cedrus, while Cedrus de Nuit sounds like a more mysterious and atmospheric version – less about intensity and more about creating a nighttime mood.
Chloe Cedrus de Nuit: A Mysterious New Chapter for Atelier des Fleurs?
Whether Chloe Cedrus de Nuit is truly coming or not, the idea behind the name already creates curiosity. Chloé has always had a talent for creating fragrances that feel elegant and effortless, so it would be fascinating to see how the brand would reinterpret the world of Cedrus in a new way. Until we know more, this remains one of those fragrance rumors worth watching.
