I’ve been waiting A Drop d’Issey Essentielle, the newest creation from the Perfume House of Issey Miyake. Known for its minimalist elegance and deep connection to nature, Issey Miyake’s perfume house continues to craft scents that feel pure, clean and aquatic. Essentielle is no exception — inspired by the freshness of morning mist, it captures the beauty of a single dew drop resting on a petal at dawn. This fragrance is all about simplicity, purity, and the beauty of nature.
I was really looking forward to this release. If you’ve read my blog, you know my love for the Issey Miyake house. I can’t quite explain how much I adore their perfumes. Maybe it’s because I was young when they launched L’Eau d’Issey, and every time I smell it, it brings back memories of my childhood.
That’s why I always look forward to every new release — and this one was no different. I just knew there was no way I wouldn’t like it, which is exactly why I blind bought it. 🙂

First Impression of Issey Miyake Essentielle
When I first tried it, it felt like stepping into a green forest after the rain — earthy, cooling, and deeply connected to nature. There’s a hint of citrus in there, probably from the magnolia. She has that waxy, lemony floral aroma that’s both fresh and lush at the same time, and it really stands out as one of the key features of this scent.
Thankfully, the aquatic note isn’t salty — which I actually appreciate here. I do enjoy salty scents in other perfumes, but I don’t think it would’ve worked as well in this composition.
It’s floral, yes, but not overly sweet. There’s a green, almost earthy touch that makes it feel grounded and peaceful. I’d say it’s perfect if you love subtle fragrances that are fresh, elegant, and calming — the kind of perfume that stays close to the skin and just feels right.
